This is where editing the WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) using the AXXAIR software Weldreport comes into play. Direct editing of the data in the welding program is possible with this reporting software. It considers every detail of the ticket that was printed using the power supply. Because the document is formatted in A4, it can be submitted straight to an authorized inspection body.
How can I get a PQR?
Several steps are necessary to obtain a PQR (Procedure Qualification Record), a document issued by an approved inspection body.
- During the testing phase, the welder attempts to match the specifications as closely as possible. These specifications consider all standards and quality controls applicable to the site concerned as well as the customer’s specific requirements. Once the welding manager and/or welding engineer have internally verified that everything conforms to the standards, an inspector from an approved organization gathers the weld samples.
- The welding operator then carries out a test piece once the weld is obtained and prints a ticket directly through the AXXAIR power supply. The quality manager evaluates the weld to confirm it meets customer requirements and may show it to the customer for approval.
- Then, if the weld conforms, a WPS is edited with all the welding parameters of the program used and the welding energy (in Joules per mm: J/mm). It is the same information as the one edited when the ticket is issued through the power supply, but in A4 format. The SAXX power supply displays programs in WPS/PQR format and presents them automatically in an A4 layout. viewed on a computer.
